Mark Kalin
Mark Kalin (FAIA, FCSI, LEED) is a highly experienced specification writer, author, speaker, registered architect, and the President of Kalin Associates. Mark is a CSI certified construction specifier, USGBC LEED accredited professional, and one of only 27 individuals advanced to fellowship in both the American Institute of Architects and the Construction Specifications Institute. Mark has been involved in over 4,000 specification projects since 1984, including 250 LEED projects. He is the author of the original GreenSpec Database of Sustainable Products (1996), and has written chapters for both Green Building, RS Means and Construction Specifications (Wiley & Sons). Mark has authored numerous publications on specifications, product selection, and greespecs, presenting on these topics in over 100 sessions at both regional and national conventions. He has taught Architectural Specifications at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University and is currently Chair of the Masterformat Maintenance Task Team of the Construction Specifications Institute. Long active in the American Institute of Architects, he has been Chairman of the AIA Masterspec Review Committee, the AIA Specifications and Building Technology Professional Interest Area and the AIA Library and Archives Committee.
